Viceroy - Santa Monica

Next stop was Viceroy.  Located one block from Shutters on the Beach, we walked over.  We were told that this place had a cool outdoor lounge, so we decided to check it out.  Walking into the lobby you get a very "Modern California" feel.  The very cool vibe.  Lots of black and white decorating including large white chairs in the lobby (pictured above).

We made our way out to the pool area which at night is turned into a lounge.  There are cabanas, chairs, and couches.  We settled on a couch and table next to a wall that had china lit up on it.  Very cool modern vibe!  Very dimly lit with candle chandeliers.

To drink Cayla went with red wine and I went with an Old Fashioned.  It was what I would call a good standard Old Fashioned.  Enough said.

We were both feeling like dessert but were told that the kitchen was closed (by this time it was very late).  The server did however offer a cookie plate with warm assorted cookies.  It was very good.  It came with chocolate chip, chocolate, lemon sugar, snicker doodle, and oatmeal.  Our favorite was the lemon sugar cookies.  Very moist and chewy, with a slight hit of lemon.  Great cookies!

This is a very cool and mellow lounge for hanging out late at night.  The hotel as a whole looks very cool with its modern decor.  We both agree that when we return to Santa Monica that we should stay at this hotel!
